What is the amount of words? The quantity is the type of word used to indicate the number or scope of things, people, or other objects. In Vietnamese, the amount of words often used with the nouns to describe the number or scope of that object. The amount of words helps the speaker/writer clearly indicate the information about the quantity or frequency of the nouns they are mentioning.
The amount of words is classified into two main types, including: The amount of entire whole (general amount) and the amount of words indicating or distributing (the amount of dispersed words). Classification of the magnetic amount will be presented in more detail in the article section below.
Some examples of words such as:
The amount of entire words: “All books in the library have been classified by the theme.”
The amount of words only gathered or distributed: “Every day I perform at least 30 minutes of practice.”
The amount from the quantity index: “There are very few books on this topic in the bookstore.”
The amount of comparison words: “The teacher asked each student a question, but only a few children answered correctly.”
The amount of frequency: “He made an appointment to meet you every Saturday at 3 pm.”
The amount of magnetism indicates the distance: “The clothing store is just a few steps ago.”
The amount of words indicates: “It is a difficult test.”
In literature, what is the role of quantity? Some important roles of the quantity in a sentence can be mentioned as:
The quantity helps clearly determine the number or scope of the object in the sentence. This helps convey information more accurately and easier to understand.
For example: “All students in the class are on the board to solve the exercises.” (The word “all” determines that all students are on the board).
The amount of words may indicate the frequency of an action or something in the sentence.
For example: “He often goes to the library to read.” (The number of words “often” shows the frequency of action to the library).
The amount of words can be used to compare or classify objects based on their quantity or properties.
For example: “Some of my friends like to watch action movies, but others like comedy.” (The word “some” classified two groups of friends based on movie interests).
The amount of words can help express the degree or small/small level of a attribute or property.
For example, “This contest is quite difficult for the contestants.” (The number of words “quite” determines the difficulty level of the competition).
The amount of words can affect sentence structure and words order.
For example: “Every day, the teacher teaches English for students.” (The word “each” time orientation and affecting sentence structure).
In short, the amount of words plays an important role in helping accurately express information about the quantity, frequency, scope and extent in the sentence, and affect the structure and meaning of the sentence.
As mentioned above, based on the amount of words used in the sentence, they divide them into two main types (including: the amount of words indicating all and the amount of words only gathered or distributed). Details will be presented shortly.
This group includes the amount of words used to describe the gathering, the entire range or overview of things, people or objects in the sentence (such as: all, all, all, all, all, the, …).
For example:
All students in the class are members of the student club.
The entire furniture in the house has been replaced.

This group includes the amount of words used to describe the distribution, match or partial gathering of things of things, people or objects in the sentence (such as: Each, one, each, the, …).
For example:
Each student receives a new set of books in the anniversary of the school’s founding.
Every girl in the classroom has a beautiful flower.
Note that a number of words may belong to both groups, depending on how they are used in the context. Sometimes, the amount of words can also be accompanied by adjectives or adverbs to express more specific levels or characteristics. It is important to understand how to use and context to choose the right amount of words in each case.
In Vietnamese, the amount of words and words has the following distinct characteristics:
Both words and quantities are in front of the nouns in the sentence. However, the number of words often used to show a specific, accurate and valid number. The amount of words used for general, estimated or mentioned a number is not specific.
For example:
“Three pen” – “three” is the number of words and shows the specific number of the pen (3 pieces).
“Students” – “the” are words, do not determine exactly the number of students, only acting more than one person but does not count as specific.
In one sentence, the number of words can be combined directly with the nouns to express the number or counting of the object. The amount of words usually does not combine with verbs or direct adjectives, but often combined with nouns.
For example:
True: “Two writers” – “two” are the numbers combined with the noun “written pen” to express the specific number of the pen (2 trees).
Wrong: “The food” – “the” is the amount and cannot be combined directly with the verb “eat”. This sentence needs additional nouns, such as “young people eat”.
In summary, the number of words used to show the correct and counted quantity of the object in the sentence, while the amount used to refer to general or estimate the quantity without giving specific numbers. Number of words often combine directly with nouns, while the quantity is often combined with nouns to express the general number of the object.
